Terms of service
These terms describe what Tally does, what it does not do, and how plans and billing work. Last reviewed 2 August 2026.
Draft pending legal review. The contracting entity, registered address, governing law and dispute-resolution forum are deliberately left blank rather than invented. This agreement will be republished with those details before Tally accepts paying customers.
What Tally is
Tally is record-keeping software for bands and touring artists. It is not an accountant, a bookkeeper, a tax preparer or a payment processor. It does not move money, file returns, or give tax, legal or financial advice. Figures Tally produces are only as accurate as what you enter, and you remain responsible for your own filings.
Your account
Accounts are currently created by invitation. Keep your password private, and enable two-factor sign-in if more than one person can reach your email. You are responsible for the people you invite and the roles you give them.
Plans and trials
Free, Band, Touring and Management plans are described on the pricing page. Paid plans start with a 30-day trial that includes full Touring features. No payment card is collected to begin a trial. If you do not add a payment method by the end of the trial, the account moves to the Free plan; nothing is charged automatically.
Billing
Payments are processed by Stripe. Tally never receives or stores full card details. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown at checkout until cancelled. If a payment fails, the account keeps working for a 14-day grace period while the payment method is updated.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; the plan is not cut off mid-period. After that the account reverts to Free limits. Free limits restrict how much new data you can add — they do not lock or hide records you already created, and CSV export stays available on every plan.
TODO (owner): the refund window is a manual policy handled case by case at present, with no automated enforcement in the product. Confirm the exact refund terms with counsel and state them here before advertising a refund guarantee anywhere on this site.
Founding Band offer
Founding Band is a promotional annual price offered to the first 250 organizations that take it. Tally intends to hold that price for three years for those accounts. This is a commitment made by Tally rather than an automated guarantee enforced by the billing system.
TODO (owner): either implement price-lock enforcement in billing or keep this wording as a stated commitment. Do not describe it as automatic.
Your records
Your band's financial records belong to you. Tally stores and processes them to run the service. We do not sell them and we do not use them to train machine-learning models. You can export them to CSV at any time.
Limits
Tally is provided as-is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that every figure you enter is correct. Tally is not liable for tax positions, missed payments, or business decisions made from data entered into it.
TODO (legal): warranty disclaimer, liability cap, indemnity and governing-law clauses to be drafted by counsel.
